microRNA biogenesis & function

videosTAmiRNA GmbH
February 22nd 2018

microRNAs are a class of non-coding RNA molecules, which core function is the regulation of gene expression and thus of cell behavior. microRNAs are, however, highly released by cells and their composition in the blood largely depends on the development and progression of certain diseases. The highly innovative team of TAmiRNA has taken advantage of this effect within their very successful research studies. TAmiRNA is able to show that certain microRNAs are strongly associated with the progression of osteoporosis and the risk of fractures. From these data, we are able to develop diagnostic algorithms based on microRNAs and clinical parameters to allow a more accurate patient classification.
